Third Generation Toyota Prius Promises to Be Best One Yet

Many cars improved from generation to generation because they incorporate the latest technological and design improvements since the previous generation model was introduced. However, a mistake here or there, these improvements can jump out the window, Ford learned something when they updated their edgy Taurus, replacing it with a bland bulbous model.

Toyota is about to publish its third-generation Prius, its award-winning and very popular hybrid car. May this model very well be the best yet, a car that has sold over a million copies since its launch ten years ago.

Nice improvements for the next generation Prius

The third generation Prius will likely be a standout for Toyota for the following reasons:

The new Prius incorporates the latest in Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive (HSD) technology. The update system is smaller and less expensive than previous HSD technology, although the nickel-cadmium batteries are used. Toyota says it will eventually deploy technology lithium-ion battery for the Prius in the coming years as the technology to take place.

Starting at $ 21,000, the 2010 Toyota Prius is actually a thousand dollars less than the 2009 model. Initially, Toyota provides an increase in the price of one thousand dollars, but decided to propose a standard model at a price below the competition with the new Honda, the Insight. The Honda Insight detail just under 20,000 dollars, but it is smaller, lighter and less spacious than the Prius. In addition, the Prius a lot more fuel than the Honda.

Exceptional fuel economy, better than the Honda Insight

Speaking of fuel economy, the Toyota Prius achieved 51 mpg city, 48 mpg highway while the Honda Insight gives 40 cities and 43 routes. In comparison, the all new Ford Fusion hybrid sedan that is larger than the Prius emits 41 mpg city, 36 mpg highway.

The new Prius will be offered in five trim levels, allowing customers to specifications of the car with a leather trimmed interior, heated front seats with driver lumbar support, advanced navigation system and more. Any option, a detail of the Prius is as high as $ 32,000 which puts it in entry-level Lexus territory. Oh, by the way, Toyota is working on model Lexus Prius too.

Perhaps the most noticeable changes to third-generation Prius is that it is more spacious and quieter than previous models. This change will be more welcoming, the Prius to give yet another advantage over its rival Honda.
